About Us

IN THE DOG HOUSE (Selsdon) has been established for 20 years and provides Doggy Holidays, Doggy Day Care and Woofer Walking. We are fully insured as well as licensed and vetted by Croydon Council.

Sue and Lou are both dog owners and fully appreciate and understand what is required to keep woofers and owners happy.

Prior to Sue starting the business she did two years dog training and dog behaviour management. She found that she had a natural ability to work with dogs. Sue and Lou met in 2014 and got on so well with their mutual love of dogs, that they decided to work together. Lou has had dogs most of her adult live and is currently studying Canine Psychology. Sue has three German Shepherds and Lou has a Springer
and a Labrador.

We are patient and kind people and have a deep affection for the dogs we work with. We work with a small team of warm, friendly people, who all own and love dogs. Dogs come first in our lives and our job gives us a great sense of fulfilment.
Your canine friend will have lots of fun, socialization and 2 one hour walks a day, whilst they stay with us. We love taking the dogs for walks, come rain or shine. The walks could take us to: Little Heath Woods, The Bird Sanctuary, Kingswood, Croham Hurst, Gravel Hill Park or Shirley Hills.

Our property has a large secure spacious garden to play in if the dogs have enough energy after their walks!

We take all breeds of dog, large or small that have been neutered or spayed (puppies not included). It has been known for dogs to join us at 6 weeks old and to be in our care throughout their adult lives. We do not take aggressive dogs. We follow a vetting service which is completely free to clients. This is to make sure that you dog will be happy and relaxed during his stay and so that you can go away with peace of mind, that your dog will be very well looked after during its stay.

Dogs that are with us are constantly supervised and we guarantee that they will never be left on their own. Your furry treasure will have the complete run of our home during their say and will be treated as part of the family. Your dog is NOT just a pet. We understand that they are a member of your family and should be treated in the same way when they stay with us. We hope to become an extension of their family, while they are with is.

All the animals here are carefully screened for any signs of aggression. We often work with dogs that may be generally anxious or that have specific issues with separation anxiety but we will not accept aggressive dogs of any breed.
Come and visit us and see what you think. We look forward to meeting you and
your dog.

Best wishes, Sue and Lou
